Here’s a quick lowdown, until very recently my studio was at The Sorting Office in Eastleigh. Decided to leave the studio as the space was no longer suitable.
Since the first Lockdown I’ve been very fortunate in that I’ve been able to work via Zoom. It’s been a challenge but I have managed to present my courses & workshops online. If you would like to check out the leisure courses at Peter Symonds Adult Education Centre then here is the link: https://ahed.psc.ac.uk/website My classes run on a Monday evening ‘Portraiture Drawing & Painting’ and Tuesday morning ‘Express yourself through drawing‘.
I’m also a tutor and mentor for Hampshire Art Studios a lovely riverside studio near Barton Stacy Hampshire. To date I have taught onsite and online providing ‘live’ painting demonstrations and teaching everything to do with abstract expressionist art in acrylics. Please see the following link for all their courses: https://hampshireart.studio/abstract-painting-with-acrylic-paint/
In regards to my own work, for nearly 15 years I have been predominantly non objective, expressive but with semi abstract leanings. https://www.evevdawson.co.uk/gallery/ My work always seem to featured landscape/cloud like shapes and drawn lines. Since Lockdown however my work has become representational. Like everyone I have been drawn to spend a lot of time outdoors. Latest work is of meadow, grasses, cow parsley and tangled undergrowth reminiscent of childhood picnics with my parents, afternoons spent looking up at the sky or chasing grasshoppers.
I Recently became a member of https://thispaintinglife.mykajabi.com/art-tribe. The reason for doing so was to be part of a artist community. Joined a free course by Nicholas Wilton https://www.nicholaswilton.com/ and had my work discussed by him and Alice Sheridan https://alicesheridan.com/ via Facebook live.
